Former Bank of Ireland Governor Laurence Crowley will be presented with an honorary CBE by the British Ambassador to Ireland tomorrow.

Former Bank of Ireland Governor Laurence Crowley will be presented with an honorary CBE by the British Ambassador to Ireland tomorrow.

Mr Crowley, founding chairman of the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate School of Business, is being recognised for his contribution to public service and north-south relations.

Ambassador Julian King said: “Laurence epitomises all that is good about North-South relations and the close links between the UK and Ireland.

“His commitment to public service has made a real difference in many of Northern Ireland’s most disadvantaged areas.”

Mr Crowley is chairman of Gaisce – The President’s Award, the Gate Theatre and is a director of the ESRI and Bord Gais.
