ISEQ down more than 1%

The ISEQ index of Irish shares slumped by 33.72 points to finish on 2,882.74 by close of trade today.

Irish Life and Permanent was the only firm in the financial sector to gain ground, inching up a mere 1c to €3.40. Bank of Ireland (down 3c to €1.67) and Allied Irish Banks (down 6c to €1.68) suffered losses.
