Clare call centre firm refuses to comment on lay-offs

A Co. Clare company is refusing to comment on reports it's laying off a chunk of its work force.

Local reports suggest around 100 staff could be let go by Sykes Enterprises in Shannon over the next two months as a result of the loss of a contract with the Sony Corporation.

The company operates a call centre that provides outsourcing and support services in various languages by phone, email and internet.
