Hauliers say the Government's plans for a carbon tax are "misguided" and not enough is being done to stimulate growth of an alternative fuel industry here.

In its pre-Budget submission, the Irish Road Haulage Association (IRHA) says the tax - aimed at reducing carbon emissions - will fail if hauliers cannot pass on the cost in the services they provide.
