Disney plans new studio
Disney has submitted plans to build a sprawling soundstage and production complex outside Los Angeles in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The company, which has a shortage of production facilities for its television series, wants to build Disney/ABC Studios on 56 acres of its Golden Oak Ranch property, saying the project would create 2,800 full and part-time jobs and generate a £320m (€217.4m) economic boost for the region.
The proposed complex would include six pairs of soundstages, talent bungalows, administrative and production offices, storage, a supermarket and other amenities.
