Carlow security firm to create 50 jobs
A Carlow-based security firm is to create 50 jobs over the next three years with a €5m investment in a state-of-the-art command cetnre.
Netwatch said the investment would allow the company to double its client base. The company currently monitors 1,100 businesses and private homes throughout Ireland, Europe, the US and South Africa, employing 75 people.
In addition, Netwatch is currently involved in the roll-out of new systems at 120 UK sites due to the long term closure of development sites and the need to protect high value vacant buildings.
The company said demand from light manufacturing, warehousing and large private residential clients has also increased as a result of higher levels of criminal activity.
“We have seen an unprecedented demand for our services throughout 2009," said managing director David Walsh
"Perversely, the downturn in the economic climate increases the level of criminal activity against businesses. Often clients approach us having suffered large scale financial losses as a result of wanton damage caused by intruders in their search for items of value on their business premises.
"We are also seeing a higher level of serious incidents as criminals increase their efforts to steal high value goods and cash.”
