Credit unions ‘should not be stifled by financial reform’
The Irish League of Credit Unions is today calling on the Minister for Finance to make sure its members are untarnished by any changes to the financial services regulatory system.
The organisation has met Brian Lenihan to discuss the new regulatory regime.
Its president, Mark Bailey, says credit unions are not responsible for the banking crisis and their development should not be stifled by whatever reforms are introduced by the Government.
