US banking giant expected to announce huge profits
Investment bank Goldman Sachs is expected to announce a bumper profits haul today amid signs that the sector's lucrative bonuses are back just a year after the banking crisis that almost caused financial meltdown.
Staff at the US giant, which employs 5,500 people in London, look set for a reported £14bn (€15bn) pay and bonus pool this year when bosses unveil what is forecast to be a sharp rise in third quarter earnings.
