ISEQ up at close

The ISEQ index of Irish shares closed at 3,367.54 points today, a rise of 21.40.

Notable among the risers were CRH, up 47c to €19.97; Kerry Group, lifting 25c to €20.00; Paddy Power, adding 15c to €21.85; Smurfit Kappa, also adding 15c, to €5.95; Kingspan, up 10c to €6.55, and Aer Lingus, up 6c to €0.75.

On the fallers' board, DCC dropped 27c to €18.90; C&C was down 10c, to €2.66; Aryzta was also down 10c, to €26.90; Elan Corp, down 8c to €4.51; FBD, 5c off at €7.65, and Grafton Group, down 4c to €3.75.

Among the financials, AIB added 2c to €3.06 and Bank of Ireland finished up 1c, at €3.15, but Irish Life & Permanent was down 12c to €5.58.
