Staff at the printing facility for the Kilkenny People newspaper are due to embark on all-out industrial action this Friday.

It follows the breakdown of talks between the UNITE trade union and management over the proposed closure of the printing business.

UNITE says its members will withdraw their labour and place pickets at the printing facility and at the Kilkenny People's offices in the city.

A total of 46 workers are due to lose their jobs with the transfer of operations to Limerick and the North.
