SFA calls for Yes vote in Lisbon

Both the yes and no sides have stepped up their campaigning in the Lisbon Referendum.

The Small Firms Association have said that three-quarters of small firms believe a second rejection of the treaty would have a very negative impact.

The Ireland Canada Business Association is also calling for a yes vote and claims our success in attracting Canadian investment is due in no small part to our membership of the EU.

Meanwhile a group of environmentalists and former Greens have called for a rejection of the treaty on ecological grounds.

They said they reject claims from the yes side that the treaty is essential to protect the environment and fight climate change.
