Deal agreed to avert Gresham Hotel strike action
The threat of industrial action at one of Dublin's most iconic hotels has been lifted following talks at the Labour Relations Commission last night.
Workers at the Gresham Hotel on O'Connell Street were threatening to mount strike action to coincide with the All-Ireland football final.
They were unhappy over job cuts, reduced work hours and redundancy payments.
However, SIPTU and hotel management reached a deal to resolve the dispute during 12 hours of talks at the LRC yesterday.
"Management welcomed the acknowledgement of the difficult trading environment in which the hotel is operating and this agreement will ensure continued success of the Gresham," said a statement from Gresham Hotel.
