The ISEQ index of Irish shares performed strongly in early trading this morning, jumping 66.11 points to hit 3,084.94 by 11.30am.

The ISEQ index of Irish shares performed strongly in early trading this morning, jumping 66.11 points to hit 3,084.94 by 11.30am.

Among the strong performers was drinks group C&C, which earlier announced the €200m takeover of leading Scottish lager brand Tennent's. Shares in the cider maker rose 27c to €2.50.
