ISEQ up almost 1.5%

The ISEQ index of Irish shares comfortably stayed above the 3,000 mark today, gaining 41.98 points to 3.048.53.

The financials all gained ground. Allied Irish Banks improved marginally, inching up 1c to €2.20. Bank of Ireland did well, gaining 5c to €2.18, but Irish Life and Permanent was the star performer, rocketing up 33c to €3.98.
