Indicator shows improvement in world economic climate

The Ifo World Economic Climate Indicator rose in the third quarter of 2009 for the second time in succession, it was announced today.

The Ifo World Economic Climate Indicator rose in the third quarter of 2009 for the second time in succession, it was announced today.

The rise in the indicator was primarily the result of the clearly more favourable expectations for the coming six months.

The appraisals of the current economic situation have improved slightly for the first time since the third quarter of 2007.

The results are based on the responses of 1,049 economic experts from 92 countries.

WES is conducted in co-operation with the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) in Paris.
