Bank of Scotland (Ireland) today announced four new appointments to its executive committee, which follow the appointment of Joe Higgins as chief executive in March this year,

Martin Akers joins the bank as Head of Risk, Bernard Kingston is the new Head of Retail and Intermediary, Paul McEvoy becomes Head of Commercial Banking and Mark Mohan is appointed Head of Marketing & Communications, Strategy and Products.

“These appointments complete a very strong and experienced leadership team that is committed to the ongoing development of the Bank," said Mr Higgins.

"This team has the skills, ability and commitment required to steer the bank through the current challenges and into the future.”

Meanwhile Paul Cunningham leaves the bank's executive where he had held the role of Head of Banking.
