Fate of Element Six rescue plan to be known today

The fate of a rescue plan that could save jobs at the Element Six plant in Co Clare is expected to be known today.

Senior executives from the industrial diamond manufacturer have been holding talks on the plan in London for the past two days.

Workers at the company's Shannon facility are expected to be informed of the outcome later.

Element Six announced last month that it plans to cease manufacturing and distribution at the facility with the loss of 370 jobs.
