Falling sales for Signet

Jewellery firm Signet said UK like-for-like sales were down 4.2% in the half year to August 1, with H Samuel down 2.2% and Ernest Jones off 6.5%.

Total sales, including the company’s US business, were down 4% and the firm said the outlook on both sides of the Atlantic was “uncertain”.
