Trichet: Pace of contraction in Euro economy slowing

ECB president Jean Claude Trichet has said the pace of contraction in the Eurozone is slowing down.

Announcing the decision to keep the bank's main lending rate unchanged at 1% this afternoon, Mr Trichet said price stability would be maintained in the medium term.
