Banks help FTSE rise
Further gains by banks and a strong session for corporate results ensured the London market maintained its upward momentum today.
Aviva, Unilever and ITV posted well-received half-year figures, providing investors with the incentive for another round of buying as the FTSE 100 Index climbed 33.4 points to 4680.5 by mid-morning.
