FTSE notches fifth day of gains

London’s FTSE 100 Index secured its fifth day of gains today as blue chip stocks including British Airways drove the market higher.

BA was among the leading risers with a share gain of 3% after it said an emergency funding plan would “put to bed” fears over its future.
