Irish sandwich bar struggling in UK

Several O'Brien's sandwich bars in the UK are going into administration, it has emerged.

It said many of its branches have been struggling to pay rent because of falling customer numbers.

It expects the 109 UK branches to remain open if lower rents can be negotiated.

The company says conditions are worse in Ireland, but it continues to trade effectively here.
