The Consumer Prices Index (CPI) in Britain fell to 2.2% in May from 2.3% in April, official figures showed today.

The headline rate of Retail Prices Index (RPI) inflation, which includes mortgage interest payments, rose to minus 1.1% in May from minus 1.2% in April, according to the Office for National Statistics (ONS).
