ISEQ cimbs 1.5%

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was valued at 2,941.59 at 11am this morning.

This represented an increase of 45.63 points or 1.58%.

It was a good morning for all of the major banks. AIB was up 7c to €2.01, Bank of Ireland rose 6c to also break the €2 barrier, up to €2.02, while Irish Life & Permanent climbed 5c to €3.75.

In other sectors, movement was relatively modest. CRH increased 54c to €17.94, FBD put in an impressive morning, adding 32c to reside at €8 and Kingspan rose 14c to €4.89.

There were not too many fallers, with Norkom, down 7c to 99c, the most notable.
