Business start-up numbers down 22%

The number of new business start-ups was down more than 22% in the first quarter of this year compared to the same period last year.

The housing sector took the hardest hit, with a drop of 63% in estate agents and rental companies.

According to a report from ICC Formations, there were 483 fewer companies formed in the construction and housing sectors in the first three months of this year.
