ICTU economist to examine DHL finances
Management at DHL Ireland has cleared the way for ICTU economist Paul Sweeney to examine the company's books today.
The express delivery firm has announced plans to lay off 320 workers as part of a restructuring programme.
It wants to close seven regional depots across the country and re-organise its other operations.
SIPTU has tabled alternative cost-cutting proposals in an effort to save some of the jobs, but management says it is not in a position yet to say if those cuts are sufficient.
