Aviva appoints non-executive director

Aviva has appointed Mr Leslie Van de Walle as an independent non-executive director with effect from today.

Mr Van de Walle, 53, is currently chief executive officer of Rexam plc, the global consumer packaging company, and a non-executive director of Aegis Group plc.

He will retire from that position at the Aegis annual general meeting on May 22, following six years' service on the board.
