Swine flu worries send FTSE into red

Jitters over the impact of swine flu and the strength of major banks sent the FTSE 100 Index into the red today.

A World Health Organisation (WHO) warning that it was too late to contain the outbreak and reports that two US banks could be forced to raise more capital knocked sentiment in London.
