IBOA seeks meeting with Minister on Irish Nationwide future
The Irish Bank Officials' Association (IBOA) is to seek urgent talks with the Minister for Finance regarding the future of Irish Nationwide Building Society.
Union general secretary Larry Broderick said that “in light of the disturbing revelations in the society’s recent annual results, the union is anxious to meet the Minister for Finance Brian Lenihan to discuss the Government’s intentions for INBS.
“The growing number of IBOA members in Irish Nationwide are extremely concerned about the possible impacts on customers and on their own job security, terms and conditions, of potential write-offs revealed in the recent annual results.
“Open engagement with the Minister and his department would be greatly appreciated at this time.”
