BoI predicts economy will contract by 7%

Bank of Ireland is predicting that the economy will contract by 7% this year, making it just the fourth year in the past five decades that Irish GDP has fallen.

The following year is more likely to see an end to negative growth, on the assumption that the global economic cycle begins to show signs of improvement in the next nine months, according to Bank of Ireland’s Quarterly Economic Outlook
