Solid gains for ISEQ

The ISEQ index of Irish shares was on an upward trend today, closing up 91.82 points at 2,285.77

Index majors on the risers' board included CRH, up 1.17 to 17.39; Paddy Power, climbing 21c to 12.35; Glanbia, up 12c to 2.19; Ryanair, up 5c to 2.94; Kingspan, cheering 2c to 2.77; C&C, also up 2c to 1.32, and Aer Lingus, closing 1c to the good at 0.60.

Among the financials, AIB cheered 12c to 0.72, Bank of Ireland closed up 6c at 0.58 and Irish Life & Permanent jumped 21c to 1.31.

On the fallers' board, Elan Corp dropped 24c to 5.04, Kerry Group shed 9c to 15.16 and Smurfit Kappa was also down 9c, to 1.29.
