Flextronics to let 140 workers go
Some 140 workers at Flextronics in Limericke will be laid off by September.
The company is phasing out the jobs with an initial 25 workers being laid off in May.
Flextronics, which employs 190 people, has been reviewing operations following Dell's decision to move manufacturing from Limerick to Poland.
It is hoped some of the jobs can be saved if new contracts are secured.
Management held a meeting with staff today following the completion of a consultation process.
SIPTU representative at the company, Councillor James Houlihan said it is a difficult time for workers.
