Brazil oil workers strike
Workers for Brazil’s state-run oil company have voted for a five-day strike starting next week.
Some 60,000 of Petrobras’ 74,000 employees who work in oil production will participate in the strike, said Joao Antonio de Moraes, director of the National Oil Workers Federation.
Moraes said the union was unhappy with the latest profit-sharing plan proposed by Petrobras, saying it was less than in previous years, despite record profits for the oil company in 2008.
