Hours cut at Mercedes-Benz plant
Daimler AG has said it will cut back the number of hours that workers on production lines at its Mercedes-Benz truck plants are on the job, citing weaker demand from customers and a dip in orders.
The Stuttgart-based company, whose vehicles also include Mercedes-Benz luxury cars, the Smart two-seater and trucks, said the decision would take effect after Easter next month.
It said it is a response “to the continuing weak demand and declining level of incoming orders related to current market conditions”.
