EU Industry Commissioner meets Tánaiste in Dublin
The European Union Industry Commissioner Gunter Verheugan says one of the main problems facing the Irish economy is not being able to access finance.
Mr Verheugan met with Tánaiste Mary Coughlan and business leaders in Dublin today to discuss Europe’s response to the current economic crisis.
Minister Coughlan has agreed to support a European initiative which aims to reduce red tape on businesses by 25% until 2012.
The Vice-President of the European Commission says SMEs can provide a much needed jobs boost here.
