ISEQ closes up 110
The ISEQ index of Irish shares fared well today, closing up 110.82 points to 2,444.78.
Banking shares were among those in the black, with AIB surging 46c or 38.91% to 1.66, Bank of Ireland up 17c to 0.79 and Irish Life & Permanent rising 28c to 2.02.
Elsewhere CRH cheered 62c to 19.22, Tullow Oil climbed 30c to 7.60, Kingspan rose 24c to 2.68 and Elan Corp gained 10c to 5.50.
Ryanair, which today formally withdrew its bid for Aer Lingus, was up 10c to 3.10.
However food group Glanbia fell 6c to 2.74 following the news that up to 50 jobs were to be shed in Dublin.
