Fearful traders continued to drive banking shares lower today as Lloyds and Barclays joined Royal Bank of Scotland in suffering heavy losses.

Lloyds Banking Group shares dived 47% at one stage as doubts over the latest bank bail-out and renewed worries for the sector’s health meant no respite for shares following the 67% slump experienced by RBS on Monday.
