Major Galway employer to close with loss of 180 jobs

One of biggest and longest-standing employers in Loughrea, Co Galway, has announced plans to close in June with the loss of 180 jobs.

CIGNA, which processes health insurance claims for the US market, informed staff yesterday that lay-offs would begin on a staggered basis from March.
