US firm to lay off around 60 workers in Limerick

A US manufacturing firm has announced plans to lay off around 60 workers in Co Limerick.

Filtertek BV says it plans to reduce the size of its workforce in Newcastle West from 99 to approximately 40.

The company, which manufactures filter technology, is blaming the cuts on recent economic factors which have affected its competitiveness.
