Ireland will not be a main beneficiary of EU regional aid in the future as future spending will be targeted for Europe’s poorest regions, it has been claimed.

That was according to the chairman of the South West Regional Authority (SWRA), Cllr Jim Corr, who said Ireland’s increased GDP level means we will not see the funding Ireland previously received.
