250 new supermarket jobs for Larne

Supermarket giant Asda announced plans today to create at least 250 jobs at a new outlet in Larne provided the North's planning service gives it the green light to build.

Highlighting rising unemployment largely driven by pay-offs in the construction industry, it said getting the go-ahead for a store with 30,000 sq ft of sales space would help alleviate the employment problems in the Co Antrim town.
