Galway biomedical plant to double workforce

A County Galway biomedical plant is to double its workforce over the next two years.

Proxy Biomedical which opened new manufacturing premises in Spiddal today employs 16 people and will take on another 16 over the next two years.

The company specialises in the research, development, production and marketing of biomaterials for the repair and regeneration of tissue.

Proxy Biomedical which is backed by the development agency Údarás na Gaeltachta exports almost all of its product to the US, Europe and Asia.
