Digital hub firms 'have more skilled workers'

Firms based in Dublin’s Digital Hub have better skilled employees, more job security and grow faster than the average Irish company, a new report revealed today.

The first enterprise study of the government-backed scheme in the Liberties in Dublin found these technology businesses are also relatively young compared to the rest of the economy,

Philip Flynn, chief executive of the Digital Hub Development Agency, said the survey indicated the health of the sector right across the country.

“This new survey paints an up-to-date, current picture of digital media companies in Ireland,” he said.

“Because over one-sixth of Ireland’s digital media companies are now located in the Digital Hub, the survey findings can also be considered indicative of the health of the sector overall.”

The Digital Hub was set up by the Government to create an international centre of excellence for knowledge, innovation and creativity focused on digital and technology enterprises.

The site is nine acres in the historic Liberties area focused on enterprise and urban regeneration.
