Continued demand for laptops and flat screen televisions helped shore up sales growth at electricals chain Comet today.

The UK business, which is part of European retail group Kesa Electricals, posted a 0.3% rise in like-for-like sales in the year to April 30, compared with 0.4% growth in the year to January 31.

Kesa said sales of white goods like fridges, freezers and washing machines eased during the period at Comet, which has 251 stores in the UK.
