Daft.ie buys competing website

Daft Media, owner of leading property website Daft.ie, today announced the acquisition of competing website Property.ie for an undisclosed sum.

Daft Media will continue to run Property.ie in parallel to Daft.ie and will be investing significantly in driving traffic to Property.ie over the next 12 months.

"We are pleased to welcome Property.ie into the Daft Media Group," said Daft.ie CEO Odhran Ginnity.

"Having already cemented the number one position in the marketplace with Daft.ie, we aim to use this new title to compete more aggressively with the number two and three players in the market."

"This is good news for homeowners and their estate agents already listing on Daft.ie. They will have all their properties listed on both www.daft.ie and www.property.ie for the cost of one subscription resulting in more leads at no extra cost."

Property.ie was originally launched 10 years ago and is one of Ireland’s oldest property websites. It lists property for sale from over 90% of Irish estate agents.
