Chairman of eircom steps down

The chairman of eircom is stepping down to become the head of a telecommunications company in France.

Pierre Danon has been appointed chief executive of Numericable Completel after spending two years with eircom.

He has thanked his colleagues for their work and will remain on as chairman until a successor has been appointed.
