SIPTU "cannot accept" SR-Techincs future in jeopardy
SIPTU has said it cannot accept that the future of the aircraft maintenance company SR-Technics is in jeopardy.
Changes to work practices for 21 of its members at the north Dublin firm were rejected and the company has indicated that it is not in a position to agree a crucial line maintenance contract with Aer Lingus as a result.
The airline wants agreement by tomorrow.
SIPTU is calling on the company to enter into talks to resolve the issue.
However, union spokesman Padraig Yeates has said that the future of the entire plant should not be left hanging in the balance in the meantime.
