Knock Airport passengers up 25%

Knock Airport has said its passenger numbers were up 25% in the first four months of the year to more than 177,000.

The Easter break was the busiest on record with 30,000 passengers travelling through the airport.

New routes to Bristol with Ryanair, London Gatwick with XL.com and Glasgow International with bmibaby have been added in recent months and have been a significant factor in the growth.

The airport also announced that CityJet has been awarded a contract to operate daily return services Dublin, starting on July 22.
