Aer Arann begins new Cork route to Brest

Aer Arann’s new route to Brest is the second of four services to France flying from Cork Airport.

Flights to Nantes are already operating and services to LaRochelle and Lorient are due to commence on May 24.

This new route to Brest, France is a twice weekly service that provides a connection to Brittany for those travelling from southern Ireland.

Brest is located in a sheltered position not far from the western tip of the Breton peninsula and this July will host the International Festival of Sailors.

Commenting on the route commencement, Colin Lewis, Head of Sales and Marketing, Aer Arann said: "We are delighted to be increasing our network of French routes for 2008. Brest is the ideal destination for Cork customer wishing to spend a long weekend exploring the city, or perhaps tour through the dramatic Brittany landscape nearby.

"This is our third route to France from Cork, and fares on the route start from €69."

Cork Airport’s Kevin Cullinane said: "With Aer Arann’s four services to France from Cork Airport beginning this month, there is greater choice than ever for regional travellers.

"Cork Airport is proud to be able to facilitate Aer Arann’s expansion into Europe and to be part of their continued development."

The service operates every Saturday to September 13th with flights departing Cork at 08.30, arriving Brest 11.00. Flight return from Brest will depart Saturday at 11.45 and arriving Cork at 12.30pm.

Flights operating during July 2nd and August 30th inclusive will depart on Wednesday’s from Cork at 10.00 arriving Brest at 12.40 and flights from Brest depart at 13.15 and arrive Cork 14.00.
