Barclaycard Business enters into Irish payments market

Barclaycard Business has today announced its entry into the Irish card processing market.

Ireland is the first country, outside of the UK, to experience the service, with other countries such as Italy, soon to follow.

"We are delighted to announce our entry into the Irish market. Barclaycard Business is offering Irish customers something more than secure card processing - we are offering a complete service with full commitment to the customer," said Steve Lappin, Ireland country manager at Barclaycard Business.

"Essentially, Barclaycard Business removes the burden of card processing from merchants giving them the time and space to manage and grow their business. Fundamental to this offering is the education and training of merchants."

According to a recent Irish Payment Services Organisation report, the number of Irish Laser/Maestro cards issued in 2007 has climbed by 56%.

Barlcaycard Business allows retailers to accept card payments in more than 30 types of currency.
